Nicky Campbell has opened up about his ongoing health struggles after a mental breakdown led to him collapsing at London Euston station.
Following the terrifying event in 2013, the 62 year old BBC Radio 5 Live presenter was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, a condition he found out his birth mother also had.Two years ago, a specialist also diagnosed Nicky with ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) after noticing traits like him becoming "obsessed" with various topics such as "the planet, litter and animals".
With the help of medication and a supportive family, Nicky – who last year spoke about the 'overwhelming' experience of working with disgraced TV presenter Jimmy Savile – says his symptoms are now "kind of under control", but he still has his moments.
Chatting with Gabby Logan on her The Mid. Point podcast, Long Lost Family host Nicky also revealed how his dog Maxwell has been a huge source of comfort.
