A nurse who once tipped the scales at 18 stone has transformed her life by adopting a simple exercise routine. Samantha Abreu, 25, swapped her XL scrubs for a size small after losing seven stone by walking 10,000 steps a day.Samantha confessed that she had always battled with her weight, reaching a peak of 18st 1lb and a size 22.

She would often overeat, indulging in toast and cereal even after dinner, and despised any form of physical activity. Her weight made it difficult for her to complete her 10-hour nursing shifts due to constant fatigue. She feared becoming like some of her elderly patients who were unable to get up after falling.

However, during lockdown, Samantha began taking daily walks for her mental wellbeing and soon discovered that this simple exercise was a "blessing" for both her mind and body.

Gradually, she started eating intuitively, reducing her portion sizes, and managed to lose an impressive 7st 6lbs in just one year.
