Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid wasted no time in letting rip at government officials today for their slowness to hit their own coronavirus testing targets.

Minutes into Wednesday's show, Piers Morgan's co-star raged: "Yesterday, hearing again that the protective equipment is being sent out to hospitals when medical staff in hospitals are saying 'we are not getting it'".

Hearing the government say 'we are ramping up testing' when we know they are still way below the testing 10,000 daily tests that they promised weeks ago. "They have got to be honest and transparent and explain why these things are not happening rather than saying one thing at the podium when people in hospitals are experiencing something completely different."
