Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan accused of 'scaremongering' over coronavirus pandemic by Mario Falcone

Piers Morgan has been accused of "scaremongering" by celebrities including Mario Falcone. The Good Morning Britain host has been very active on Twitter, posting about the latest death tolls and rate of infection, holding the government to account for both.

But former TOWIE star Mario said Piers had been posting negative stories just to "scare" his followers, and he was joined by Love Island's Nathan Massey who said the same.

But Piers savagely told Mirror Online: "I have no idea who these people are." It started on Wednesday when Piers tweeted: "UPDATE: UK # coronavirus death toll spiked by 412 yesterday, not 209 as earlier reported. "This is nearly four times higher than yesterday & significantly higher than the same day last week.
