The parents of a ‘precious’ little boy have been left ‘completely and utterly heartbroken’ after their son was diagnosed with cancer at just two years old.

After multiple trips to the GP and A&E over the last month Daylen’s family had their lives 'changed forever’ last week when he was given the diagnosis they had been ‘dreading’ and told he has leukaemia.

Daylen’s mum Laurie Birkbeck said Daylen had been ‘poorly’ for the past month and was diagnosed with a UTI, whooping cough, and viral infections during multiple visits to the GP and A&E. READ MORE: Boy, 13, dies after police called to 'medical emergency' at house READ MORE: The innocent children who think they're in love Last week Daylen was admitted to the North Manchester General Hospital and underwent an urgent brain scan which revealed a tumour behind his left eye.

He was transferred to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital the following day and after multiple tests and scans was diagnosed with leukaemia.
