The UK’s top holiday parks and resorts are preparing for a summer boom as tourism bosses urge lockdown-weary Brits to enjoy a staycation and help boost the ailing sector.
Haven, Center Parcs and Butlin’s are drawing up plans to adapt their sites to cater for families’ “pent-up demand to get away” while sticking to vital social distancing rules.
They are hoping the Government clears holiday parks and resorts to reopen in July – under what would be Phase Three of Boris Johnson ’s plan to ease us out of lockdown and reboot the hospitality sector.
It comes after Visit Britain said the domestic market, worth £80billion, has already lost £22billion as a result of Covid-19 measures.
