Health Secretary Matt Hancock led the government's daily coronavirus press conference - after the UK death toll rose by more more than 560 in 24 hours.
Mr Hancock himself came out of self-isolation today (Thursday) having tested positive for COVID-19 last week. He was joined by Public Health England's director of health protection Prof Yvonne Doyle and NHS England’s national medical director Stephen Powis.
Much of the press conference focused on coronavirus testing. The government continues to face scrutiny over its testing policy - both NHS workers and the wider public.
