Downing Street sources have reportedly revealed that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is preparing to make a televised address in a bid to raise the country's morale during coronavirus lockdown.

The Queen has already released a moving statement urging the country to come together, but it is now being suggested that the palace is making plans to time any such broadcast for maximum effect.

Discussions over the address have been held between No10 and Buckingham Palace since last week, the Daily Mail reports, when the Queen left Buckingham Palace to isolate with Prince Philip at Windsor Castle.
