Shaughna Phillips has emotionally revealed she was told she is "obese" by doctors earlier this year.The former Love Islander posted a candid video on Instagram, which was filmed in January, explaining how she'd been left stunned following a general check-up.

The 29 year old, who appeared on winter Love Island in 2020, admitted she wasn't shocked by the doctor's words, but said it's "never nice to hear".

Shaughna also said she didn't realise "things were actually that bad". "They told me that I was obese," she said. "It isn't a shock but it's never nice to hear and the following the checkups that I had done they said I had quite a lot of visceral fat around my organs." Shaughna, who is mum to one year old daughter Lucia, continued: "I'm a mum now and it shook me to my core.

I know I'm not the picture of health but I didn't realise things were actually that bad and it's kinda scary to hear it from, like, a medical professional. "I need to do something, I'm going to get my thinking cap on because I only have one parent because my dad died and without getting too deep, I just never want that to happen to Lucia.
