Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke has shared a heartfelt insight into his wife Hannah's devastating struggle with endometriosis, which impacted their dreams of starting a family. The beloved BBC personality, who tied the knot with marketing executive Hannah in 2017 after meeting at Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey back in 2012, became a father to twins George and Henrietta following IVF treatment shortly after their wedding.
Opening up on Giovanna Fletcher's Happy mum Happy Baby podcast, Anton, 58, spoke candidly about the couple's fears over their ability to have children due to Hannah's painful medical condition.
Anton couldn't hide his emotions as he discussed how witnessing Hannah's natural affinity with her nephews made him question life's fairness.
He confessed: "I knew I wanted to be with her, I saw her with her nephews. She's so kind and so caring, I just couldn't understand the universe. "And whoever is upstairs, if anyone's upstairs, looking down and going 'you are the most perfect person to have children, but I'm not going to let you have any children because I'm going to give you this," reports the Express. "And I'm going to say 'you're going to have this endometriosis, and you're going to suffer with this all of your life, chronically, and I'm not going to let you have any children." Anton didn't hold back on his feelings towards the perceived injustice, adding: "I thought that was peculiar, cruel, and inexplicable and unforgivable.
