A man has tragically died in hospital following a horror crash on the M6 that left him with severe head injuries. Emergency services raced to the southbound carriageway between junctions 33 and 32 at Billsborough at around 2pm on Monday (July 22).
Lancashire Constabulary said that a Seat Altea car had left the carriageway and 'rolled several times'. A stretch of the M6 was fully closed off as police, firefighters and paramedics responded to the incident.
The driver, who is from Carlisle, was taken to hospital with severe head injuries, LancsLive reports. READ MORE: Teenager fighting for life following crash In an update issued this morning (July 24), police said the man sadly died yesterday (Tuesday).
A file will be prepared and passed to HM Coroner in due course. A woman in her 20s and two children who were passengers in the car, were taken to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
