A US spy plane has been spotted flying over North Korea after a raft of missile tests were carried out. The elusive RC-135 Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft – the US Air Force’s go-to electronic surveillance platform – was detected by aviation tracker Aircraft Spots.
The US has stepped up its surveillance operations over the hermit kingdom with several spy planes, including a US Navy EP-3E.
The increased surveillance may be related to muscle-flexing in Pyongyang – there have been multiple missile launches in recent days, including a cruise missile that was deliberately launched into the Sea of Japan on Tuesday.
