Waste collection and recycling efforts in East Renfrewshire have been hit by the outbreak of COVID-19.Council workers will reduce their uplifts to twice a month, with blue and brown bin collections also shelved.That means paper, cardboard and food recycling efforts will be put on hold until the virus is under control.The local authority announced the reduction in collections on Facebook amidst the government’s imposed lockdown.Posting on Facebook, they said: “In order to focus our resources, there will be changes to our bin collections over the coming weeks.“Collections on week commencing March 23 will be the last weekly collection for brown bins (garden/food waste).“The following week will be green bin (cans/glass/plastic) collection only,
