Mamie Laverock‘s mother is speaking out following her fall at a hospital. The 19-year-old actress, best known for her work on Hallmark Channel’s When Calls the Heart, fell five stories a few weeks ago, was on life support, and received multiple surgeries.

In the latest update, her mom Nicole Rockmann is sharing an update on how she is doing and shared a little more about the fall. Keep reading to find out more… “Mamie just opened her eyes,” she said in a phone interview with the LA Times. “Let’s just hope this is the turnaround and she’s going to get through this now.

I couldn’t be happier that people reached out and cared. The story will be told.” Nicole says that Mamie‘s fall was not “intended” and it was not an attempt to take her own life – she fell while being “escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.” The mother blames the hospital, with the intent of taking legal action as a “negligence-type case.” “This is an absolute miracle and there will be accountability,” she says. “We have a case.

All we care about is that Mamie can make a recovery and that she’s alive and that she’s fighting and that she’s strong. It’s unbelievable that she’s with us.” There is a Go Fund Me set up to raise money to aid in the family’s efforts to support Mamie and her recovery.
