Legendary Scottish tennis star Andy Murray will reportedly miss Wimbledon after surgery on a spinal cyst – casting fresh doubt on the future of his iconic career.
An official update is expected but The Telegraph state they understand such a procedure comes with a six-week recovery period – ending his dream of starring at SW19.
Murray retired from his second round clash at Queen's with Jordan Thompson last week. And now the prognosis is bleak for a player who many believe is in his final season with Wimbledon now off the agenda. .
Murray has rallied from serious injuries in the past, of course, but has never been able to regain his best form since the career-altering hip surgery which saw a metal pin inserted to continue playing on the tour.
