Some grandparents will finally be able to hug their grandchildren for the first time in months this weekend as new rules allow households to create “support bubbles”.
Boris Johnson made the announcement in a bid to support single people who feel isolated as lockdown drags into its 12th week.
From Saturday, households in England with a single adult will be able to ‘bubble up’ with one other household of any size. Anyone in the bubble will be allowed ‘act as if they live in the same household.’ It means they can visit and spend the night at each other's houses - spending time together indoors without having to observe social distancing.
