In a poignant address to the nation, the Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced strict new measures to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.
Mr Johnson, essentially, put the UK into lockdown on Monday night - ordering the public people to only to leave their homes under a list of "very limited purposes" as well as baning public gatherings of more than two people and told non-essential stores to close.
Many key workers - such as doctors, nurses and teaching staff - will also be having to go about their day as somewhat usual today but only if absolutely necessary.
