Coronation Street star Kevin Webster will face a cancer diagnosis in a new storyline in 2025. Kevin, who is played by actor Michael Le Vell, has been a familiar face on the cobbles for four decades and has found himself at the centre of many high profile storylines.
And now he will take on a devastating new journey after being diagnosed with testicular cancer. As well as seeing Kevin cope with the aftermath of the diagnosis, viewers will watch how it affects his relationship with his wife Abi as she navigates her own struggles. “Ultimately, it’s about their relationship and testing that relationship,” said producer Kate Brooks.
Speaking to The Sun, Kate revealed that Coronation Street had worked closely with the charity Macmillan to ensure that they were telling the story “right”.
She added: “It was really important that we don’t show Kevin being embarrassed or being reticent to talk to his friends about it. “He’s quite open about it, which I thought was quite refreshing.
