Coronavirus Scotland: Almost 10,000 positive cases nationally as death toll rises

Almost 10,000 people in Scotland have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.Tragically, another 64 people have passed away after contracting the disease which takes the Scottish death toll to 1,184.The number of confirmed cases across the nation now stands at 9,697 from 46,089 tests which have been carried out.

Across the NHS Ayrshire & Arran region, a total of 678 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 which is an increase of 25 since yesterday's update.

The number of patients in intensive care within the health board's region with suspected or confirmed coronavirus stood at seven at midnight.Meanwhile, the number of people in hospital with confirmed or suspected coronavirus at midnight was 113.The Scottish Government provided the figures
