A cyclist has been fined after being caught by police on the M60. The cyclist was spotted in transit on the motorway near Cheadle on Sunday.
Traffic police officers said the offender 'couldn't understand' what the issue was, despite breaking the law. It is illegal for a cyclist to be on the motorway.
Under Highway Code rule 253 it is listed as a prohibited vehicles. North West Motorway Police said on Twitter: "Patrol @gmptraffic just stopped a cyclist on the M60 near to jct 3, Tried to advise but cyclist couldn't understand what the issue was.
Has been issued with relevant paperwork and fine will be in the post. This does not constitute your daily exercise." People couldn't believe the cyclist's actions on social media.
