Downing Street issue update as Boris Johnson spends second night in intensive care

Boris Johnson remains "in good spirits" following his second night in intensive care. The Prime Minister was moved to a critical care unit at St Thomas' Hospital in central London on Monday night, 10 days after testing positive coronavirus.

He was initially admitted to hospital for "routine tests" but was moved to ICU when his condition worsened. Mr Johnson is now spending his third day in intensive care as he continues to be treated for the coronavirus.

Downing Street has now issued an update on his condition. A spokesperson said: "The PM remains clinically stable and is responding to treatment. "He continues to be cared for in the intensive care unit at St Thomas’s Hospital.
