Drake Hogestyn Dead - Longtime 'Days of Our Lives' Star Passes Away at 70 After Pancreatic Cancer Battle

Drake Hogestyn has sadly passed away. On Saturday night (Sept. 28), it was announced that the 70-year-old actor, who played John Black on Days of Our Lives for 38 years, had died following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Drake died just one day shy of his 71st birthday. “It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Drake Hogestyn.

He was thrown the curve ball of his life when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but he faced the challenge with incredible strength and determination,” Drake‘s family shared in a statement posted on the Days of Our Lives Instagram account. Keep reading to find out more…“After putting up an unbelievable fight, he passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones,” the statement continued. “He was the most amazing husband, father, papa and actor.

He loved performing for the ‘Days’ audience and sharing the stage with the greatest cast, crew, and production team in the business.” Drake‘s family concluded, “We love him and we will miss him all the Days of our Lives.” Our thoughts are with Drake Hogestyn‘s loved ones during this difficult time.
