Emergency work is set to be carried out at Hopwood Hall in Middleton, the council has reported. Urgent repairs needs to be made inside the historic Grade II-listed building, according to a structural survey from Rochdale Council.
It comes after the council took over control of the property last year - following the end of an exclusivity agreement with Hopwood DePree and the Hopwood Foundation.
Under the terms of the agreement, which began in 2017, the council-owned historic hall would have been sold for a nominal sum on receipt of a viable business plan with secured planning permissions.
The council opted not to renew the agreement after seven years, during which time the agreement had been extended four times.
