Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan stood by his co-worker Kate Garraway after her husband Derek went into hospital with coronavirus. The Good Morning Britain host, 55, reached out on Twitter to the TV presenter, 52, to offer his support as Derek battled the deadly virus.

Piers led the celebrities supporting Good Morning Britain's Kate amid her husband's fight with coronavirus. In an outpouring of love, he sent his prayers to Kate and Derek following the news being made public.

He wrote: "Now it’s been made public, I can say this horrendous situation has brought the Coronavirus crisis sharply into the hearts of all of us @GMB.

My love & prayers to Kate & Derek." Kate has been self-isolating with her two children at home after she showed mild symptoms.
