Hospital surgeon, 52, admits trying to have 'sexual communication' with child

A disgraced hospital surgeon who has admitted 'attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child' is now awaiting sentence.

Matthew Isles, 52, from Cheadle, Staffordshire, worked as an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) consultant at Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital in Stafford.

The surgeon pleaded guilty to the crime at North Staffordshire Justice Centre yesterday (Tuesday 11) following his arrest on Monday.

Now the 52-year-old is awaiting sentence at Stafford Crown Court. A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Matthew Isles, 52, from the Cheadle area, has pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
