Man rushed to hospital after serious assault in Glasgow city centre

A man has been rushed to hospital after a serious assault in Glasgow city centre today.Officers from Police Scotland are standing guard on Union Street near Glasgow's Central Station following the incident at around 4.45pm on August 14.

Locals reported seeing blood splattered on the pavement next to several items after the attack.An area close to the side entrance to the busy station has been cordoned off as cops investigate.

Paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service also attended the scene and took the man to hospital. It is not known the extent of his injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a man having been seriously assaulted on Union Street, Glasgow, around 4.45pm on Wednesday, 14 August, 2024.“Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
