Morgan Spurlock Dead - 'Super Size Me' Documentary FIlmmaker & Star Passes Away Following Cancer Battle at Age 53

Morgan Spurlock has sadly passed away. The filmmaker and star of the 2004 documentary Super Size died on Thursday (May 23) in New York from complications of cancer, his family announced on Friday, May 24.

He was 53. “It was a sad day, as we said goodbye to my brother Morgan,” his brother Craig shared in a statement via People. “Morgan gave so much through his art, ideas and generosity.

The world has lost a true creative genius and a special man. I am so proud to have worked together with him.” Keep reading to find out more…Morgan earned an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary Feature for Super Size Me, in which he challenged himself to only eat meals from McDonald’s for an entire month while examining the fast food industry.

His other documentaries include 2008′s Where in the World is Osama bin Laden, 2011′s The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, and 2017′s Super Size Me 2: Holy Chicken!. Morgan is survived by his two sons Laken and Kallen.
