U.K. Health Secretary Matt Hancock said on Tuesday that he believed the trip taken by Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s top aide Dominic Cummings to his parents’ farm was “within the guidelines” but could understand why others may take a different view.
He said the guidelines allow for “exceptional circumstances particularly with regard to childcare.” He added, after asked how his family staying in London differs from Cummings, that his family had childcare available while the aide did not. .
