In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan's Good Morning Britain return lands 76 Ofcom complaints

Good Morning Britain clocked up 76 Ofcom complaints today as Piers Morgan made a dramatic return after a week away. The presenter, who has received 4,000 complaints already this year, has remained very outspoken during the show's reporting of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Ofcom the complaints from viewers today "related to a range of issues, not specifically Piers Morgan." After taking some time off, Piers, 55, marked his comeback with an epic rant directed at Boris Johnson and his aide Dominc Cummings.

The host savaged Cummings and accused him of 'destroying lockdown' by flouting the rules to drive from London to Durham at the height of the health crisis.
