The results of 17.5 million coronavirus home testing kits ordered by the Government could be unreliable, scientists have said.
The government had hoped the finger-prick test would be able to determine whether someone has already had the Covid-19 disease and had promised they would be available to purchase in Boots and on Amazon "within days".
Prime Minister Boris Johnson had previously played up the tests, saying they had the potential to be "a total game-changer" in the fight against coronavirus at one of his daily briefings.
