Self-scanning tickets and floor markings among changes at Chester Zoo as staff pave the way for reopening

Chester Zoo has revealed what changes are being made as it makes preparations to reopen. New self-scanning tickets and floor markings are being introduced to the attraction in its bid to become a safe place for families and other visitors.

While no opening date has yet been confirmed, bosses at the zoo say there are lots of things happening behind-the-scenes 'to ensure that the zoo will be ready to welcome people back safely, when the time comes'.

As well as the changes to tickets and floor markings, other physical measures include multiple hand-sanitisation stations, protective screens in key locations and additional outdoor picnic areas.
