The family of Patricia Bunting, a 76 year old British grandmother from Wigan, Greater Manchester, has provided an update on her serious condition after she caught Coronavirus during what was meant to be a dream holiday to Walt Disney World.
After saving for over two years for the trip, Patricia has been hospitalised in Florida for two weeks and is continually bed-ridden due to Covid-19 complications.
Choosing not to be intubated for fear of not waking up, Patricia is struggling with her health, already weakened by pre-existing conditions.
Her worried daughter Emma explained: "She's still heavily reliant on oxygen, she's had two blood transfusions and is currently battling her second bout of pneumonia." Described as a widow and a mother-of-four, Patricia could not afford the costly £3,000 travel insurance for the trip due to her chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and atrial fibrillation (AF).
