Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden has taken to Instagram with a heartbreaking post, declaring 'I truly hate cancer." The professional dancer opened up following her breast cancer diagnosis in 2023.

Last year was tough for Amy, despite eventually being given the all clear, as she went through several gruelling treatments to combat the disease including a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and efforts to preserve her fertility.

There were extremely tough times throughout her journey too as her her friend and companion through the treatment journey has passed away from the same illness after their chance meeting in the hospital, reports the Express.

In an emotional post, Amy penned: "Life is cruel and I truly hate cancer! A beautiful soul, Hannah, I met during treatment. Our appointments always aligned and we'd have a good natter and put the world to rights."She continued: "I spoke about Hannah actually on Loose Women which she immediately messaged me to say thank you and loved.
