TV chef dies aged 63 after health battle as family issues heartfelt statement

TV chef Richard Hughes has died at the age of 63, it has been announced by his family.The chef, who appeared regularly on Norfolk’s Mustard TV, was chef patron at The Assembly House, where he also ran the Richard Hughes Cookery School.

His wife Stacia Briggs released a statement thanking people for their best wishes in which she said: “The Assembly House is overwhelmed by the thousands of messages they have received today.

Richard’s influence spreads through kitchens across the world through the hundreds of chefs he mentored. We are so very proud of his work and the kind, funny, generous man he was." The family also added: “Thank you, Chef.

We love you. Our ringmaster may have left the tent but the show goes on in his name." Richard had been working up until December 2023, despite being ill for four years.
