A twisted child killer has been found with drugs in his prison cell.Thomas Cashman, 36, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 42 years in 2023 after being found guilty of murdering a nine-year-old schoolgirl, Olivia Pratt-Korbel, in Merseyside.Olivia was shot dead in her own home in Dovecot and her mum, Cheryl Korbel, was also struck by a bullet as Cashman chased his intended target Joseph Nee into the house on August 22, 2022.He let off shots indiscriminately as he chased Nee down the street before also firing shots blindly inside the Korbel home.

Cashman, now at category A prison HMP Long Lartin, is believed to have been caught with drugs after he is believed to have been distributing to fellow inmates, reports the ECHO.A Ministry of Justice spokesperson said: "The availability of drugs and other illicit items in prisons is yet more evidence of the crisis the new Government inherited.

We have a wide range of security measures in place helping us to seize more contraband and a specialist team to bear down on drugs and serious and organised crime.

Anyone caught smuggling items into prison will be punished."Convicts face additional time behind bars as well as the loss of any privileges when they are caught with drugs.
