Wes Streeting has pledged that the government is acting fast to deliver new hospitals, 40,000 extra NHS appointments, and a smoking ban.
Mr Streeting affirmed in the House of Commons today (October 15) the government's commitment to the hospitals programme, assuring that it will be executed on a "credible" timetable.
All projects within the programme promised by the previous Conservative administration will undergo a spending review, with 25 schemes still under consideration, the government announced back in July.
One of those projects is North Manchester General Hospital. The crumbling Victorian-era buildings have not received the go-ahead after after close to five years of government promises.
