When will the Premier League return? Current plans to restart matches

Fans of Premier League clubs have been without football for more than a month now. The league was suspended on March 13 as the coronavirus pandemic took hold with clubs having either nine or 10 fixtures remaining.

The suspension has also left Liverpool agonisingly close to an historic first title in 30 years. Since then there have been several suggestions for dates, ways and even locations to restart the 2019/20 season.

Currently, the Premier League is suspended indefinitely, meaning there is no fixed return date. An initial suspension to April 3 was soon extended to April 30, before the decision was made that matches will resume “only return when it is safe and appropriate to do so”.
