July 25, 2025Adults with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) are significantly more likely than their non-diabetic peers to have ADHD, according to new research published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine.1For the study, 273 participants with TID completed questionnaires using the Adult Self-Report Scale V1.1 (ASRS) for ADHD symptoms. Information about the patients’ cardiometabolic conditions, lab tests, and scores on a questionnaire assessing depression was obtained from medical records.Of the participants:ADHD symptom prevalence decreased as age increased, but ADHD symptoms among TID patients remained appreciably higher than average across the lifespan.
