Guidance has been released for people wanting to visit the tip during lockdown. Most of the recycling centres across Greater Manchester re-opened this weekend.

However some are only open at weekends whilst others have varied opening times. And there are a strict set of rules in place for anyone who does have rubbish to dispose of.

Waste bosses are asking people to only visit if they really need to. They say if they are able to and it is safe to do so people should store their rubbish and wait for their next bin collection day.

If that's not possible and you need to visit the tip, then you can only take black bagged waste that you normally put in your general waste bin.
