A 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being knifed in Gorton on Tuesday (March 5). The teenager, who is thought to have got out of a taxi, was found with injuries to his hand on Forber Crescent at around 6.30pm.

Local residents reported that he had been attacked by a 'large group' before the residential street was cordoned off for a number of hours. READ MORE: Man, 20, seriously injured after 'sickening' stabbing during 'large fight' on residential street A silver taxi was also pictured within the police scene and was examined amid investigations, as officers from CID conducted door to door enquiries.

Images taken from the scene showed the vehicle parked up with its hazard lights flashing, and officers seen inspecting the vehicle.

The boot was open and a first aid kit bag was pictured inside. Police have now confirmed the teenager sustained serious injuries to his hand in the knife attack and is in hospital for treatment.
