Britain's coronavirus lockdown measures have a "common sense element," one of the country's top medical officials has claimed, contradicting earlier advice.
It comes a day after it was revealed Boris Johnson's top aide Dominic Cummings travelled 270 miles from London to Durham with his wife and four-year-old child while the couple both had Covid-19 symptoms.
Speaking at today's Downing Street briefing, deputy chief medical officer Dr Jenny Harries said: "All of the guidance has a common-sense element to it, which includes safeguarding around adults or children."
