Cambuslang mum suffered months of extreme pain before terminal cancer diagnosis

Four years after her death from a rare and aggressive cancer the family of a Cambuslang woman have had their complaints about failings in her health care upheld.Louise Muldoon was initially diagnosed with torticollis, a condition which starts off as a neck strain and is associated with painful muscle spasms and the person’s head becomes turned to one side.She first attended her GP at North Avenue Surgery in January 2020 but despite numerous telephone appointments, a handful of face-to-face appointments, and visits to out-of-hours, her family say medics failed to realise Louise was suffering from something more serious.The mum-of-two was eventually diagnosed with transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) in July that year but suffered extreme pain for months before she died, aged 65, in November 2020.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
