The Neighborhood still hasn’t been renewed for an eighth season, but CBS has shown commitment to the franchise by eyeing a new spinoff of the comedy hit!
The long-running comedy series is currently airing its seventh season on CBS and the upcoming season finale episode will serve as a backdoor pilot for the potential spinoff, according to TVLine.
The possible spinoff will focus on two original cast members along with 3 new characters. Keep reading to find out more… So, who will star in the spinoff? Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney Marcel Spears, who plays Marty, and Sheaun McKinney, who plays Malcolm, are being eyed to lead the untitled spinoff series.
The show will follow them as they “embark on new adventures, finally leaving their parents’ nest to start the next chapter of their lives, finding themselves the newcomers in a neighborhood that’s both close but yet world apart: Venice Beach.” TVLine has learned that three new characters will be introduced, including “a socially inept tech millionaire, a wannabe influencer and a content generator for a SoCal cannabis shop.” There’s a separate Neighborhood spinoff in the works for Paramount+.
