The number of people who have died from coronavirus in the UK has leapt to 233.It follows a surge of more than 25 per cent in the number of positive tests in the last day.More than 5000 people have now been confirmed to have COVID-19 in the UK.It comes as the number who have tested positive in Ayrshire and Arran rose to 21.A total of seven people have died in Scotland.The latest figures come after Boris Johnson ordered the shutdown of all pubs, cafes, restaurants and gyms in a bid to ramp up the fight against the killer bug.Schools across the nation have also closed, although children of key workers will be allowed to continue their education in the classroom as their parents battle on the front line against the pandemic.
