Emmerdale fans reckon a beloved character, is on the brink of being written out of the show, and they believe they've figured out how it will happen.
Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) has been a fixture on the soap since 1986, making him the longest-standing cast member in the programme's 52-year run.
Throughout his tenure, Eric has been central to countless plotlines in the Dales, including the arrival of his estranged son David Metcalfe, his role as one of the original antagonists, and his marriage to Val Pollard (played by Charlie Hardwick).
However, late last year, the character was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and recently, his health appears to have deteriorated.
