Prince William has spoken candidly about the tumultuous period his family has faced, revealing his father King Charles and Kate, the Princess of Wales', cancer diagnoses have made this year an incredibly challenging one.
In a raw interview during his trip to South Africa, he shared how it's been an extremely tough time but he remains inspired by Charles, 74, and Kate, 42, for their courage.
Speaking of his difficult year, the future monarch expressed, "Honestly? It's been dreadful. It's probably been the hardest year in my life." He added, "So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.
But I'm so proud of my wife, I'm proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it's been brutal." Reflecting on the late Queen who had once described 1992 as an annus horribilis due to several Royal adversities including Windsor Castle's fire, William's words carry weight comparing this year's hardships.
