Prince William's friend's tragic death linked to antidepressant reaction, inquest hears
In a tragic turn of events, Thomas Kingston, the husband of Lady Gabriella Windsor and friend of the Prince of Wales, has died from a shotgun wound after experiencing detrimental reactions to medication prescribed by his doctor, confirmed a coroner.The 45-year-old financier was found with a fatal head injury near his body on February 25 at his parent's house in the Cotswolds.
Remembered for his grand wedding to Lady Gabriella at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in 2019 — an event graced by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh — his death has left many in mourning.
At the Gloucestershire Coroner's Court inquest on Tuesday, Lady Gabriella, 43, highlighted the urgent need for greater awareness about the potential effects of mental health medications.
Concluding the inquest, Senior Coroner Katy Skerrett delivered a narrative verdict, stating: "Mr Kingston took his own life using a shotgun which caused a severe traumatic wound to the head.The evidence of his wife, family and business partner all supports his lack of suicidal intent.
