Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has suffered a new hamstring injury. The Manchester Evening News revealed on Tuesday night that Shaw was absent from United's travelling squad for the Premier League fixture away to Arsenal.
The left back then confirmed on his Instagram page that he had suffered a "small setback". Staff fear Shaw could be sidelined for several weeks, rather than a few weeks, with the latest hamstring injury of his career.
The rough estimate is partly because United will have to be so delicate with Shaw's rehabilitation. Shaw picked up a hamstring strain in his first months at United in August 2014.
United hope Shaw's absence will not be as long as the three-month lay-off that prevented him from playing again last season after February 18.
