Queen Camilla has been diagnosed with pneumonia, Buckingham Palace has confirmed. Her Majesty informed guests at the state visit of Qatar's Emir and his wife that her recent chest infection was actually pneumonia.Camilla is now dealing with post-viral fatigue and has had to skip the outdoor elements of the Qatari visit on doctor's orders, who have advised her to take additional time to recuperate.
Although she did not require hospitalisation, she is experiencing extreme tiredness as a result of her illness. It has been clarified that Camilla's pneumonia was viral in nature and she is no longer suffering from it.
She missed the ceremonial welcome on Horse Guards Parade on Tuesday due to the cold weather. This update follows the announcement made by the Palace just yesterday, stating that the Queen would be absent from the ceremonial welcome during the Qatari state visit due to significantly reduced energy levels after her chest infection.
Doctors have recommended that the 77-year-old takes ample rest to fully recover from the lingering effects of the illness, which she caught a month ago following her extensive travels to Australia and Samoa.
