FC Seoul apologise after using sex dolls to replace fans in empty stadium match

Sex dolls were inadvertently used as replacements for FC Seoul supporters over the weekend in South Korea. The embarrassing gaffe marred the club’s first home game back in the K League since the season was suspended due to the coronavirus crisis.

Football has restarted in South Korea behind closed doors, meaning the atmosphere at games will clearly suffer. Clubs across the world are working to find suitable solutions to fill the void, but FC Seoul certainly regret their method.

The top-flight side have apologised for deploying 30 sex doll mannequins in the stands, spreading them out across seats. FC Seoul have insisted to the BBC that the dolls were merely ‘premium mannequins’, but some were holding signs advertising x-rated websites.
